Working Out In Winter

If you’re looking to keep in shape even in the winter, check out these tips:

Stay dry: The most important thing when it comes to exercising in extreme weather is to make sure you maintain your body heat. If you get wet while working out, you’re increasing your chances of getting hypothermia. Wear things with polyester, nylon, and polypropylene. These will dry quickly and won’t leave you freezing.

Wear layers: You might be tempted to wear less because you’ll sweat, but keeping warm is essential when working out in cold weather. You can always take layers off as you go.

Cover your extremities: Your nose, ears, and fingers always get the coldest. Cover them up to make your workout a little less agonizing.

Drink water: Make sure to hydrate. The cold weather is drying so drinking water is very important.

Warm-up: Before getting to the tough workouts, prepare your body first. A good warm-up will lower your chances of getting injured

After you’ve braced the cold and sweat it out, remember to change out of your damp clothing. You don’t want your body getting cold again once you’ve warmed it up.
