In-Season Winter Fruits and Vegetables
It’s always fun when winter comes around because we can find all sorts of great fruits and vegetables.
Here are some that you can find at your local supermarket from December-February:
Oranges: These delicious juicy fruits are high in vitamin C and are great to eat raw or juiced.
Pears: When picking out this fruit, make sure to pick the slightly yellow ones. Those will be the ripest!
Pomegranate: This multi-seeded fruit is high in vitamin K, and most people like to drink its juice.
Passion Fruit: You’ll know when this fruit is ripe when it starts to wrinkle. Then you can scoop out the insides, and enjoy!
Pummelo: Similar to the Grapefruit, this sour fruit is big round, and green.
Kale: Every diet needs some leafy greens, and Kale is a great choice! Sauté it or add it to your salads for a boost in vitamin A and potassium.
Brussel Sprouts: This tiny cabbage-looking vegetable is delicious raw or cooked and makes for a great side dish with any dinner.
Look out for these on your next grocery run!
