Bodybuilder Spotlight: Flex Wheeler
Flex Wheeler is widely regarded as one of the greatest bodybuilders of all time.
He set a record back in 2000 for winning the Arnold Classic Champion award four times. Schwarzenegger himself described him as one of the best he’s ever seen.
His professional career spanned from 1993 to 2003, with a comeback in 2017. But his impressive run hasn’t been without its setbacks.
A brutal car accident in 1994 left him with a broken neck and the possibility of permanent paralysis. Incredibly enough he was able to bounce back, a year later he would be a runner-up in the Arnold Classic.
A few years after the accident, Flex would be diagnosed with a rare kidney disease that would require a transplant. Nevertheless, he still competed in 2017 Mr. Olympia and came in 15th place.
Flex’s story is one of perseverance against the odds, we hope it inspires you to achieve your goals.
